Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes were one of the first manufacturers to offer electric cars with a towing capacity. The load depends on the model and age: EQA/EQC 1800kg, EQB/EQE 1700kg. Roofloads are 100kg (EQB) and 75kg (EQA/EQC).

Transport hitch only: 75kg

No towing or roofload capacity. Transport hitch for bike carriers can be retrofitted. Factory-fitted are concealed behind numberplate. 385 litre boot.

Cupra Born

No towing or transport hitch

Unlike the Born's cousin, the VW ID.3, Cupra do not support any transport hitch or roof load for the Cupra Born.

Citroen, DS, Peugeot, Vauxhall 50kWh cars

No towing or transport hitch

Roof bars and roof-mounted bike carriers and boxes are available from these manufacturers.

BMW

Braked: 750kg-2500kg

The BMW i3 and i3S have no tow or roofload capacity. Examples of later BMW models that have towing capacity (braked) are: iX3 750kg, iX1 1200kg, i4 1600kg, iX 2500kg.

Tesla

Braked capacity: 1000kg-2250kg

All Tesla models have towing capacity, although older Model 3 cannot have tow hitches retrofitted. Current models support 1000kg (Model 3), 1600kg (Model Y), 2250kg (new Model X).

Braked capacity: 500kg

Hyundai

For newer models: 750kg-1600kg

The original Kona does not have towing capacity but have roof bars for 80kg load. 2023 Kona supports 750kg, Ioniq 5 1600kg and Ioniq 6 1500kg (all braked capacities).
